Ecco Italy is part of an innovative Charlottesville, Virginia—based Romance Language Center offering an ever-increasing variety of educational and consulting services in the fields of Italian, French and Spanish language, culture, food/wine and travel. A cultural emporium of sorts as well as a living classroom, our aim is to provide inspired, entertaining and educated support for individuals, groups and businesses with an interest in or connections to Italy, France and the Spanish-speaking world. We offer a variety of language classes for all levels (on and off-site), consulting (business, travel, education) cultural happenings, informal conversation hours, and study abroad opportunities.
Ecco Italy’s beautiful and unique location— with Milano and Verity blue in the Pink Warehouse is the perfect setting for language, food/wine and travel explorations and helps keep the passion for European culture alive between trips overseas. Ecco Italy/Spain on Main is owned and directed by educational entrepreneur and traveling gourmet, Christina Ball.

Buon Viaggio: Italian for Travelers

If you’re planning (or want to start dreaming about) a trip to Italy in the near or distant future, this is the course for you! Buon Viaggio is a unique, effective, multi-faceted course which combines basic language practice with cultural orientation and endless travel tips. Each lesson will include a language portion geared towards the linguistic beginner : you’ll master Italian pronunciation, learn basic verbs and expressions (greetings, directions, numbers), practice ordering at an actual Italian coffee/gelato bar, order from actual Italian restaurant menus, practice shopping in Verity blue and learn all there is to know about hotels and reservations. This term will even include a wine tasting lesson at the new wine bar downtown, enoteca as well as numerous presentations on food, wine and travel by travel expert and Ecco Italy owner/professoressa Christina Ball.
